The days are longer. The windows are open. Kids are barefoot in the backyard. Ice cream melts a little too fast, camping gear comes out of storage, and weekends seem to fill up with adventures.
And if you ask us...
Summer might just be the very best time to welcome a puppy into your family.
Not because life suddenly gets easier (let's be honest, puppies are wonderfully busy little things!), but because summer gives you something incredibly valuable:
Time together. Time to build trust. Time to explore. Time to make memories that will last long after the sunshine fades.
Summer Is Full of Learning Opportunities
People often think of training as something that happens during formal lessons.
We think some of the very best learning happens during everyday life. Every walk through the neighborhood...Every new smell...Every friendly visitor...Every car ride...Every evening spent watching the sunset on the porch...
These little moments are helping your puppy grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
At Sappy Paws, that's exactly why we begin exposing our puppies to new experiences long before they come home.
By the time they join your family, they've already experienced gentle handling, household sounds, children, car rides, outdoor play, and all kinds of positive stimulation. (Read more about that here!) It's one of our favorite parts of raising puppies. We aren't just preparing them for adoption day.. we're preparing them for a lifetime of adventures!!
